PRE-READING ACTIVITIES

1-      What does earthquake mean?

a-      A violent storm with strong fast circular wind.

b-      A very violent wind in the form of a very tall wide pipe of air.

c-       A sudden shaking of the earth surface, which maybe violent and cause great damage.

2-      This is a letter that a young man has sent to a magazine problem page. You are the editor of the page. What’s your opinion about this problem? What piece of advice can you give him? (Remember to use should/ shouldn’t)

Dear problem blog,

                               I’m in love with a beautiful girl. Unfortunately, she doesn’t love me; she only wants my friendship. I’m not a rich man, but her mother likes me. I don’t have enough money to take this girl to nightclubs or to buy her expensive presents. Her boyfriend is rich but he is a bad man. She won’t listen to my advice and she says she wants me as a “brother”. Is is better to forget her?
